FM - Black Noise (Canada, 1977)

Phasors on stun

Hold fast. Hold on
Nothing is a dream, yet in
Changing faster
It never seems to be here long
Move on. Turn 'round
Just can't seem to find it, try and
Reach out. Hold out
I cannot ride the wind
I ride you.

Reach out. Hold out
Nothing here is real, try and
Searching farther
It almost seems to live until it
Moves on. Turns 'round
Just can't seem to lose it, try and
Hold fast. Hold on
I cannot touch the wind
I touch you.

Hold fast. Hold on
Nothing is a dream until you
Wake up. Cry out
Now it isn't real, now you
Hold fast Nothing is a dream
Hold on Just can't lose it now
Move on Turning round and round
Wake up You cannot ride the wind

One O'Clock Tomorrow

It was dawn, when we left, boarded ship, and the last time that we saw the sun.
Far ahead, lie the stars, and the new lands that we will call home.
We must leave, we must dare, find the shape of our future there, far beyond...

In the stars, there is peace, there is life, there are new lands for mankind to name.
Far behind, lies the earth, and the many that chose to remain.
They are gone, passed away, lived their life as we lived a day.
Days are long, far beyond...

Centuries have passed in moments
The futures we have seen
A million stars now lost to memory
Where we have planted seed.

To live To live in the depths of space
A life A life that will never end
Alone Alone in a place without time
In the same way I still
Dream Dream of our homeland far
Away Away in the past we knew
Somewhere Somewhere in the vastness and void
Will we always travel

Within a ship of mind and metal
The sun has never shone
Along the many halls and pathways
The wind has blown.

Along the way though some remain
There are many who still search on
A hidden voice within us calling
And leading us back home.

Journey

I know you, I know your face
There you lie asleep in your place
Now you can dream the voyage away
The endless night that turns into day

Once you begin
You never know you lose or you win
Nothing to say

Just close your eyes and dream away
Nothing to do
You know that it's not up to you
Nothing to see
You know that you will never be free

I know you, I know your dream
To search for a place where no man has been
To find a new world and call it your own
To conquer the land and make it your home

I know you, I know your fate
The voyage is long and so is your wait
The journey will end, a new world is near
A cool mist rises, so do your fears

Aldebaran

Now the starships gather here, their holds are filled with men
All waiting to leave the port
Soon with dreams of other worlds, the starships leave the Earth

And they reach out to touch the stars

Now as they challenge the unknown, for the honour that they seek
They are following a path to an end they'll never reach

Time regards us with a smile, the lives we live again are nothing beyond a dream
Still the nations rise and fall, we feel the tides will turn
And bring us a world of change
Now as they challenge the unknown, for the honour that they seek
They are following a path to an end they'll never reach
Black Noise

As the dawn breaks, the mist clears, the story unfolds
With the battle plans ready each man is told
Not to rest while the last of the enemy stands
For the dream of the future they hold in their hand

To live. To love

In a heartbeat, on a clear day, in the land we call home
Where the earth seems to move with a presence unknown
As each man hears a sound that is felt through the air
For the dream of the future they rise and they dare

To live. To love

As the night falls, the moon dreams, the city unwinds
It's each man for himself, and he grabs what he finds
But he's caught by the noise, from the blackness it sounds
So he turns from the street and he crawls underground

To live. To love.
